Play the Blue Pike Song

Lyrics to the Blue Pike Song
Song sent in to Outdoors Niagara by Bob R. Jr. in Clio MI. This song had disappeared from the 'net a few
years ago and fortunately Bob had archived it and sent it to me. The song won the singer/writer a $500.00
reward as being the best written & sung song played at some kind of festival in Ohio. [Arts Festival?]

The song was linked to from the Outdoors Niagara Website but the link eventually
disappeared in March 2007. I am happy to have it back AND complete with the lyrics too!
Bob in Michigan put the lyrics together and for that I am grateful. Thanks Bob! .......

Please enjoy..........

Iíll sing you a song of the lakes around the bout. 0:09

With their perch and their walleye their steelhead and trout. 0:14

But of all the sports fish you may fondly recall. 0:19

Sure the darling Blue Pike was the queen of them all. 0:26

Well once the Great Lakes with the Pike they did team. 0:33

From Sandusky Bay to Niagaraís great Stream. 0:39

You could cast out you line anytime of the day. 0:42

And hall in Blue Pike from the old (Erie) Ear-ii-ā. 0:48

So itís raise your glass fellows and hereís to the day. 0:53

When the Blue Pike swam free in the old (Erie) Ear-ii-ā. 0:59

Then the factories sprang up fouling water and air. 1:06

And the fish tugs and gill nets took more than their share. 1:12

And says the Blue Pike this is no place to stay. 1:17

And she bid her farewell to the old (Erie) Ear-ii-ā. 1:23

So itís raise your glass fellows and hereís to the day. 1:27

When the Blue Pike swam free in the old (Erie) Ear-ii-ā. 1:33

(Instrumental Break-Harmonica) 2:00

Now the factories grow quieter year after year. 2:04

And the poisoned lake waters may someday run clear. 2:09

If we all do our part we may yet see the day. 2:14

When the Blue Pike returns to the old (Erie) Ear-ii-ā. 2:20

So itís raise your glass fellows and hereís to the day. 2:25

When the Blue Pike swam free in the old (Erie) Ear-ii-ā. 2:31

So itís raise your glass fellows and hereís to the day. 2:36

When the Blue Pike returns to the old (Erie) Ear-ii-ā. 2:42-2:48

End
