WHO WE
ARE, WHAT DO WE DO
and WHY DO WE EXIST

Who We Are:

  • The Niagara County Federation of Conservation
Clubs (NCFCC) is made up of most all active fishing and hunting clubs
and organizations in Niagara County New York. Dues are assessed to
member clubs and these fees along with a grant provided by the Niagara
County Legislature support our operations so that we may remain as a
strong means of communication with our law makers and our regional
    Department of Environmental Conservation.
  • The NCFCC is extremely active in helping and
advising  member clubs of the latest fishing, hunting and
environmental legislation and pending legislation. The Federation is
also active in recommending to the New York State Conservation Council,
ideas spawned by our member clubs pertaining to environmental laws such
as bag limits, size limits, seasons, and whatever else needs to be
    tended to.

Why We Exist:

  • To act as a clearinghouse of conservation
information by providing information on Statewide conservation
issues to the local member clubs. These clubs in turn distribute
this information to their membership. This information includes new
regulations or changes in the Conservation Law as well as with
submitting resolutions that improve our natural resources and our
    access to them.
  • To represent the Sportsmen and Women of Niagara
County by voting as directed on Regulation changes or resolutions.
  • We have delegates that are actively involved with the New York State
Conservation Council, The Western New York Environmental Federation,
The NYSDEC Waterfowl Season Task Force. Other important groups
provide feedback and input following the requests of our county
    sportsmen and women.
  • Provide input to the New York State Department
of Environmental Conservation on specific conservation issues.
  • We work closely with our elected officials,
both locally and statewide, to inform them of our views on proposed
legislation or existing legislation that involves conservation
    issues.
  • To recognize annually at our Awards Banquet
those Sportsmen. Women and Youth who have exemplified themselves by
outstanding service to our conservation goal.

What We Do:

  • Participate in the 4-H Day Old Pheasant Program
  • Send young people to the New York State
Department of Environmental Conservation Training Camps
  • Sponsor the 6th grade field days, which teaches
this age group about the wonders of the environment/conservation
  • Send women to Becoming an Outdoors Women
    Training Seminars
  • Sponsor the Conservation Tent at the Niagara
    County 4-H Fair
  • Co-Sponsor the Wildlife Festival along with the
New York State Power Authority celebrating National Hunting and
    Fishing Day
  • Support the hunter Education Instructors in
addition to printing and distributing the Hunter Safety Course
    calendar
  • Assisted in re-introduced the Varying Hare
(Snowshoe Rabbit) in Western New York
  • Assist DEC with various fish stocking programs
  • Assist DEC with raising and releasing over 3000
ring neck pheasants throughout the county
  • Establish a sound working relationship with our
    local Farm Bureau
  • Soil and Water District, and Cornell
    Cooperative Extension
