Blue Pike Song
BLUE PIKE
The Past – The Present –
and the Future
Lyrics to the Blue Pike Song
Song sent in to Outdoors Niagara by Bob R. Jr. in
Clio MI. This song had disappeared from the ‘net a few
years ago and fortunately Bob had archived it and sent it to me. The song won
the singer/writer a $500.00
reward as being the best written & sung song played at some kind of festival in
Ohio. [Arts Festival?]
The song was
linked to from the Outdoors Niagara Website but the link eventually
disappeared in March 2007. I am happy to have it back AND complete with the
lyrics too!
Bob in Michigan put the lyrics together and for that I am grateful. Thanks Bob!

Sure the darling Blue Pike was the queen of
them all. 0:26

You could cast out you line anytime of the day. 0:42
And hall in Blue Pike from the old (Erie) Ear-ii-ā. 0:48

the day. 0:53
When the Blue Pike swam free in the old (Erie)

Then the factories sprang up fouling water and
air. 1:06
And the fish tugs and gill nets took more than
their share. 1:12
And says the Blue Pike this is no place to
stay. 1:17
And she bid her farewell to the old (Erie)
Ear-ii-ā. 1:23
So it’s raise your glass fellows and here’s to
the day. 1:27
When the Blue Pike swam free in the old (Erie)

Now the factories grow quieter year after
year. 2:04
And the poisoned lake waters may someday run
clear. 2:09
If we all do our part we may yet see the day.
2:14
When the Blue Pike returns to the old (Erie)
Ear-ii-ā. 2:20
So it’s raise your glass fellows and here’s to
the day. 2:25
When the Blue Pike swam free in the old (Erie)
Ear-ii-ā. 2:31
So it’s raise your glass fellows and here’s to
the day. 2:36
When the Blue Pike returns to the old (Erie)
Ear-ii-ā. 2:42-2:48
