A little story about Johnston’s Restaurant. We
are a four generation operation, established in 1933 by Will and Mary Johnston.
Prior to prohibition, Will and Mary ran the Porter Hotel from 1912 to 1917.
About 1942 Will & Mary’s son, Clifford ran the business. In 1965
Clifford’s son Ronald joined the business and took over solely in 1967. In 1989
Dale Johnston joined the business. Today Dale Johnston is the sole owner.
Through the years Johnston’s has served the Ransomville area as a stop for
farmers, construction workers and utility employees, as well as being a local
gathering spot where friends can socialize.
