Here's a list of some of the fin clips, should you catch a fish
in the river or out in the lake:

Over in Orleans County, the Oak project seemed to do like it was supposed to based on angler feedback.  The pen project produced the most returning fish, followed by Caledonia and Salmon River, in that order.

2001 - Oak Orchard:  Caledonia direct stock - Right Pectoral
n    Oak Orchard:  Salmon River direct stock - Left Ventral
n    Oak Orchard:  Salmon River pen stock - Right Ventral
2000 - Niagara River:  Caledonia direct stock - Right Pectoral
n    Niagara River:  Salmon River direct stock - Left Ventral
n    Niagara River:  Salmon River pen stock - Right Ventral
1999 - Oak Orchard:  Caledonia direct stock - Right Ventral
n    Oak Orchard:  Salmon River direct stock - Left Pectoral
n    Oak Orchard:  Salmon River pen stock - Right Pectoral

Study results on the pen project involving steelhead in the Oswego River are overwhelming in favor of the pens.  Unofficial results show that 68 steelhead have been verified by DEC as returning to this water body; 12 fish via the direct stock method.  The official results will all be revealed at the State of the Lake meetings
set for later this winter.
