"We cater to fishermen" |
 |
Welcome to our new webpage where we can introduce you
to our fine motel that is located in the heart of some of the finest fishing in
the country. We cater to fishermen and families and want you to enjoy what the
Historic Village of Lewiston NY and surrounding area has to offer. |
Let us tell you about ourselves and
what you will find on your visit:
- Lewiston NY is bordered on the west by the mighty and
world famous Niagara River, known for the mightiest of all King Salmon and
Washington Strain Steelhead Trout. The river divides the United States
Border and Canada. Our historic Village welcomes fishermen from all over the
world that come here to not only fish the Mighty Niagara but to take in the
sights of the surrounding area and to visit our quaint Village shops and
other attractions.
- Of course there are many other species of game fish
waiting for you. The Niagara holds abundant amounts of Lake Trout, Atlantic
Salmon, Brown Trout, Smallmouth Bass, Walleye, Muskellunge, Yellow Perch and even more.
It doesn't matter what season you arrive, there is always fishing going on.
- Lake Ontario is only minutes away and you can travel
by boat or you can trailer to the Old Fort Niagara State Park boat launch
and find some of the finest river & lake drift fishing found anywhere. On
the road trailering your boat, you will drive along the scenic route of the
Lower Niagara along River Road [18F] and take in some spectacular views of the Lower Niagara as
it winds it's way to the lake. There is a boat launch there waiting for you.
- The Lewiston public boat launch is located just a few blocks
at the end of our main street which is Center Street and that has many fine &
world class eating & dining establishments, bakeries, banks, churches,
supermarket, gas, antiques, bait & tackle shops and anything else you might
need during your visit. The Portage House Motel is only 2 blocks from Center
Street where you can walk to many of these establishments.
- There is a new public state-of-the-art fish cleaning
station located right near the launch ramp and oodles of car & trailer
parking right next to it. [Free use of cleaning station and free parking]
- If you need to charter a boat, we can help you with
that too. We have several licensed Charter Captain friends that will be
eager to accommodate you. "We cater and we care"
Our
rooms are bright, clean, modern and comfortable and each room features cable TV,
wireless internet access, refrigerators, air conditioning, of course, showers,
plus we have a lounge area with a public phone where you can sit and relax,
read, or even chat with other visitors. [Or tell fish stories]
