Niagara County Federation of Conservation Club
Following is a letter received from David
Leathers in appreciation for the
NCFCC sending him to the NYS DEC Youth Conservation camp
at Rushford Lake N.Y.
Dear
Board of Niagara County Federation of Sportsman’s Clubs, My
name is David Leathers and I went to Conservation Camp last summer as
your guest. I would like to thank you for sponsoring me to go. One thing
that I learned was yellow birch contains flammable oils that make it the
best type of wood to use to start a fire. Ever since I was little, my
father would take me hunting and on camping trips so many of the
activities were things I had seen and done before. But I never get bored
of the stunning beauty of nature’s surroundings. The name of my cabin
was Great Blue Heron and my leader read stories to my cabin and me at
night. It was a great experience and I’m glad to think that other kids
should have the opportunity that I did. Sincerely,
